The user interface has functionality,such as a direct display of the roll profile that is specific to the roll hardness testing application. It is also independent of the direction of impact, so this must no longer be compensated as is the case with traditional hammers.
Q: Does the PaperSchmidt measure the same R-values as a traditional hammer?
A: The PaperSchmidt has a new measurement principle and depending on the type of paper under test, the R-values can differ from those obtained with an Original Schmidt Type L hammer. It is generally recommended to perform a check against a reference instrument.

A: No. The memory is overwritten when it is full, so it is recommended to make regular downloads to a PC to backup the stored data.
